There are many factors in general that might affect a pupils learning ability. Factors in and around the family, the school or even the playground times are very influential on a child. Here are some major factors that need your attention if your child is performing poor academically –

Intellectual learning factor

Intellectual factor refers to the individual mental level of learning. At schools the performance and success are usually measure by the level of the intellect. Students with low intelligence often face serious difficulty in understanding school work. There is a possibility that pupils fail to learndue to special intellectual disabilities.For example, a low score in one subject and better scores in other subjects indicate the possible presence of a special deficiency in the child. Experts state that all individuals possess different kinds to intelligence. It is important to identify and choose an appropriate channel to help them get stable in academics.

Individual learning factors

At times, the improper methods of study, and narrowness of experimental background can affect the whole learning process of a student. If the school progresses too rapidly and does not constantly check up on the extent to which the student has understood, then he/she might accumulate a number of deficiencies that interfere with successful progress.For instance, in arithmetic, the knowledge of basic addition is essential to successful work in multiplication. The emotional and social factors around

Learning is closely influenced by our daily routines and people around.Personal factors, such as instincts and emotions along with the social factors are directly related to a complex psychology of motivation in students. Various responses of the individual towardsdifferent subjects are a stimulidetermined by a wide variety of tendencies.There are possibilities that a student develops a dislike for some subject because he fails to see its value, or may lack the basic foundation. A dislike towards a subject can result in a bad emotional state where the student might feel this subject is nothing less than an unwanted pressure.
Some student’s unhappiness is because of their fear of being victims of disapproval of their teachers and classmates.

The environmental factor

One of the factors that affect the efficiency of learning in a student is the condition in which learning takes place. This could be classrooms, textbooks, the visual or online study help used, their school supplies, and other smart learning methods or techniques used.It is important to have favorable conditions for learning at school and at home if teaching is to produce the desired results. It is for a fact that the quality of instructional materials and equipment play an important role in the instructional efficiency of the school.
It is certainly difficult to provide perfect educational content or teaching in a poor setup without adequate equipment and instructional supplies.
